The Second VIETNAM-KOREA Friendship congress term 2020 – 2025
On the morning of October 31st, the Vietnam – Korea Friendship Association of Thai Nguyen held the second Vietnam – Korea Friendship Congress in Thai Nguyen province, in term 2020 – 2025. Thai Nguyen Vietnam – Korea Friendship Association (Vietnam – Korea Association of Thai Nguyen Province) was established under Decision No. 1687 / QD-UBND dated August 6, 2014, of the People’s Committee of Thai Nguyen province. In November 2014, the Vietnam – Korea Association successfully organized the first congress for term 2014 – 2019.
The formation and development of the Vietnam-Korea Association of Thai Nguyen province have made an important contribution to the overall results of Thai Nguyen’s foreign affairs, especially in the field of friendly cooperation and people-to-people exchange between Thai Nguyen province and Korea. This has created an important foundation for the development of cooperation in economics, trade, culture, education, and so on.
In term 2014 – 2019, the Vietnam – Korea Friendship Association of Thai Nguyen province actively coordinated with provincial departments, branches, and units to inculcate the Association’s role and activities to the mass organizations and individuals over the province. These actions aimed at raising awareness and understanding of the Association’s work and simultaneously promoting the image of the country, people, and Korean culture to the people in the province. In the last term, the Association has mobilized and admitted 03 collectives and over 100 individuals as members, bringing the total number of members to 05 collective members and 246 individual members. In particular, the School of Foreign Languages - Thai Nguyen University as an official member attended the Congress and Vice-Rector of the School, Dr. Dang Thi Thanh Huong was honorably elected in to the new-term Executive Committee.
Speaking at the congress, Mr. Duong Van Luong – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, has acknowledged, praised, and congratulated the results of the Vietnam – Korea Friendship Association of Thai Nguyen province in recent years. Simultaneously, he suggested that the Association should continue to carry out the following:

- Hold diverse, creative, and connected activities to implement many practical and effective cooperation programs; contribute to strengthening, developing, and further tightening the relationship between Thai Nguyen province and Korean partners.
- Focus on strengthening propaganda about the Vietnam – South Korea good relationship, residential affection between the two countries, especially the Party and the Government’s policies on foreign affairs and investment attractions in the province.
- Attach importance to build associations, gradually establish branches, expand cooperation in all fields; strengthen the two-country historical and cultural introduction and promotion, and local potentials and advantages in order to enhance exchange and cooperation in socio-economic development.
- Promote its role as a bridge in the cooperation relationship between the Government, Thai Nguyen province’s residents, and Korean organizations, businesses, and agencies in all fields. The Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee also requested departments and branches in the province to facilitate and coordinate closely with the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association of Thai Nguyen province for the Association to complete the set objectives.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to 04 collectives and 02 individuals whose efforts have been enormously contributing to the socio-economic development of Thai Nguyen in the period 2014 – 2019.
